Webcam not working

Computer is Acer M3802. 6Gb RAM, QuadQ8300 CPU,ATI HD4350 512 MB. My webcam suddenly stopped .When I could not restart it, I reinstalled the software,but no joy. It has worked perfectly for 15 months using Skype. The software says it could be used by another program. I got rid of MS Silverlight. No good. I tried it on my wife's computer,It worked. I put it back in mine. No joy. Ive uninstalled Skype .Still no good. HELP

Assuming it is a USB webcam, have you tried re-setting the USB ports on the PC?
