Hot and Noisy!!

I own a 12 month old Toshiba Satellite L500D-16m

Just recently is has been making a loud humming/whirring noise after a few minutes of being on. It is also getting very hot.

Any suggestions please!!!

Is it the hard drive that is noisy, check the H/D light or is it the fan. Is the laptop on a hard surface if not the fan cannot cool the inteior.

Make sure that the Air Ducts are clear and not clogged with dust or possibly blocked by being placed on an uneven surface.

In this hot weather any restriction in airflow can cause problems.
