I have a spreadsheet for my account details on excel but today in the column which I use for money paid out I accidently entered the date which goes in the previous column.I then entered the date in it's correct cell and entered the amount where the date was previously but as soon as I moved to the next cellthe amount changed back to the date. How do I change that cell to money instead of date

Right click the cell and select "Format Cells", then select the appropriate type, which will be either "Accounting" or "Currency". Alternatively, if you only had it as a number to two decimal places, select "Number" and the appropriate settings.
