Failure to Print

I have Vista Business and use Open Office. Every couple of weeks I am unable to print a document. When I look at Start/Printers, no printers are listed. If I go to Services, I find Print Spooler is set to Manual. I change this to Automatic and click to 'start', and the printers re-appear, and all is well. What is happening and can I put it right/ Glen

Just a guess, but are you using the microsoft malicious removal, when you update your computer, as it may see it as a non-microsoft program and disable it, making your computer 'Safe'.
