Shortcuts to previously opened files have gone

In Win7 right-clicking on an software icon at the foot of the screen shows previously opened files plus some permanently pinned there. That's true for all my icons but one, for Serif Webplus X. For some reason there are none, even when I open a file and resave it its shortcut doesn't appear in this right-click menu. Previously opened files do appear within the programme itself under "File" but nowhere else in Win 7. Any one know what's wrong?

Thanks Woodchip. Yes, I did use one recently, CCleaner or Malwarebytes, the problem is why is only one piece of software affected and how do I get it working again?
