Laptop trackpad randomly stops working.

Hi I'm using an Acer Aspire 5942, which I got about 5 days ago, It was all going fine until yesterday, when I was using the mouse it randomly stopped working, so I restarted my laptop and it worked fine, today the same thing has happened twice. The little Synaptics icon in the taskbar shows that there is a finger on the trackpad, but plugging in a USB mouse works.

I've also just noticed that in "Devices and Printers" in the control panel, GEORGEOS-PC (my laptop) has an exclamation mark on it, saying needs troubleshooting.

A windows system restore back a few days to a date when all was working well

Is often the simplest solution in cases like this, if it does not fix your issue you can undo your last restore to go back to where you are now

Cheers HC

First, try downloading Synaptics Drivers they may have been updated for your Laptop. I am using a HP 510 Touchpad and Wireless Mouse both working okay together
