Autoroute 2010

How do I get Autoroute 2010 to install on my Windows 7 desktop ? It installed first time with no problems at all on my Windows 7 laptop and works perfectly, but it's defeated me on the desktop, both are 64 bit versions. Microsoft insist there's no compatibility problem, but there must be, there are pages on Google about it. I've tried all the advice I found there, but nothing works, either for me or my IT guy, any ideas for getting round this problem ?
