Setting up my printer to work WiFi

Hello all, what might be a very simple procedure for most is a complicated set up for me! I have a Canon Pixma MG5200 Printer/Scanner, to work with an Acer Aspire 7551G. The Wifi for my laptop is through a router. When I insert the CD Rom it asks if I want to set up via USB or Wifi, but it can't detect any network. The router is a Cisco Linksys.
I suppose my question is how do I set up a network with my laptop & printer?
Thanks all
