Updates on every shutdown?

For more than two weeks now on each and every log-off (shutdown) I'm advised not to "disconnect or power off your computer, installing updates 1 of 1." As it's the same instructions on all occasions I'm wondering if the same 'update' is being installed over and over again. Can anyone offer advice as to what could be happening and how I should proceed please.

Yes! good news, I believe I'm in business. I went on the "Delete" route only to find I would not be allowed delete the download file. After several attempts to get rid, I decided to rename the file adding OLD and it seems to have worked as all the files have now been replaced with the current date and I have logged off with no "update" to report - a success. And with my thanks to all who stayed with me Kindest regards From The Brown Rock
