WPA-PSK Wireless Printer

Hi A friend has asked me to help set up their printer wirelessly. It has asked for the WPA-PSK Key, i have gone into the netgear browser and seen the password **. That is 8 characters, i assumed it would therefore be their log on which is also 8 characters. However this did not match upper or lower case.
- might it be longer than 8 characters? is this just a mask...
- Can i identify the key if it is not known?
- Do i just reset the key? - if so, how do i do this?
Thanks kindly

It's possible to extract the Key from Netgear Routers by Backing up the Router Config and then opening the Cfg File created in Wordpad.

Yes.
You just login to your Friends Netgear Router choose Backup Settings from the left hand side options and choose the location where you want the backup file.
Next open the saved CFG file in Wordpad and look for a line:
The one in Yellow.

If it is an ISP supplied router the passkey will be on the bottom of the router.
