computer won't start

Hi All
The problem i have is that i turned computer off a week ago as i had another one that i wanted to try out,went back to the original computer set it all back up and all i get now is a constant beep and nothing on the moniter any idea what the problem could be.

Before you do anything expensive, have a look at wee eddie's second link.

Beep codes may differ between makers of Motherboards, but a quick glance at his link shows two probables - faulty graphics card and keyboard, depending on the length and number of beeps.

Google 'beep codes' for more detailed info.

It may also be the CMOS battery on the motherboard which has died.

constant beep is a hardware fault on the 5volts line on something connected to motherboard or motherboard its self. suggest you disconnect all drives and pull all cards other than graphics leave one stick of memory in and try booting to see if you get anything on screen,
