Completely Remove Personal Data from PC-How?

Hi All

I need to know if it is possible to completely remove my personal information, photos etc from a PC before I send it for re-cycling. Do PC's have a sort of Factory Re-set or am I over simplifying? Idiot Proof answers if possible please.

Cheers

Kooji.

Remove the Hard Drive.

Buy an empty, External Hard Drive Case (about £20), fit the old Drive into it, remove Windows and all the Program Files, just leaving your own Files and Folders and then use it as an USB Backup Drive.

meantime you can send the old PC to the Recyclers as you intended, they can the fit a new Hard Drive
