hi could somebody please help me, i want to set up a website which will allow people to create a profile and be able to send a message to another registrant on my website, it doesnt have to be instant, abit like an email is fine, what is this method called and how do i go about gettign it on my social networking website?

thanx for the reply samantha, no i havent started it yet, im doing my research first, i have a wicked idea for a social website. would i just buy this software or would it be like an ongoing license? and also would my programmer have to programme it into my website?
