Help me choose a monitor best for photoshop use

Hi.

I am trying to find the best monitor for use with retouching photographs in Photoshop and other programs (am a junior photographer) but also for great use for text processing.

My budget is limited to around £150-£170.

I have done some research and found benq g2220hd (but dont know what the difference is between that and the benq g2220hda???); benq e2220hd and m222ohd (although cannot find this for sale anywhere...)

Also I thought of LG W2234S or LG W2042S?

And Samsung SM 2032BW or SM2023 NW...

I originally thought of Apple but they are just way too expensive for me right now.

Many thanks for all your advise - I appreciate it.

a Wide Gamut Coverage of Adobe RGB: 95% is not cheap and you may need to revise the budget or the specification.

Color Gamut is the monitors ability to replicate the RGB color sent from the graphics card to the monitor. e.g. the BenQ E2200HDA monitor is listed to Adobe RGB 72% and my Flexscan S2231 is Adobe RGB: 95%.

So 23% of the colours in the High end spectrum will just look the same on the BenQ Monitor. And since you want to retouch photos inside Photoshop I think you should consider the Gamut above everything else. click here for a techie explanation or google 'Wide Gamut display'
