Changing site appearance

I have an existing site (not made by me and don't know what software was used), which I would like to change the appearance of - colour scheme mostly.

I have downloaded it into Dreamweaver to make some changes but can I change the colour scheme there or will I need to use other software? If so, will the pages transfer and be workable?

Sorry if it's a naive question.

You could have made a new image by now. That would have been easier!

except - I just cannot work out how to do it - I know that probably sounds pathetic but there we are.

Anyway - shadow excepted - I have now made all the changes we want (for now) and it's ready to go live. It's all in old (pre-css) code which leaves a lot to be desired but I haven't the time to learn CSS just yet, so that will have to be my next project!

However, we have tested it thoroughly on several different PC's and browsers and it looks/works OK.

For now, I would be grateful if someone could guide me on the best method(s) to get all the stuff in the 'new_work' folder to replace the existing site please?

in two different threads - it becomes very confusing. I've responded with an answer in your other thread click here

FE I understand your point, of course, however, shortly after making the post in the other thread I realised it had a resolved marker on it and thought it might, therefore, get ignored.
