Looking for an Excel Formula

to turn Hours expressed as 08:45:00 (Hours:Minutes:Seconds) to an Hours & Decimal of an Hour. So that I can calculate the Total Pay for the period.

I've used Excel's Help which recommends the INT Function but that does not achieve the result I hoped for. I probably got the formula wrong.

try

=HOUR(A1)+(MINUTE(A1)/60)+(SECOND(A1)/3600)

Where the time is in cell A1

Make sure the target cell for the hours as decimal, is formatted as either General or Number.
