Download problem ?? Windows xp

Just reinstalled pc using recovery disc no problems here.

I use microsoft security essentials as my anti virus software I attempted to download windows messenger 11 and the virus software picked it up and i inadvertantly cleaned this up and when i clicked on run it states that c:documents and settings my documents/wlsesetup/web.exe is not a valid win 32 application help would be appreciated

what happens if you temporarily disable you AV and try to download and run the file?

Hi thalmus yes I have tried to download it from there and get the same not a valid win 32 application,oops I cant find anywhere on microsoft security essentials to temporary disable it.

Open MSE, settings tab, select realtime protection, and uncheck "turn on realtime protection".

just done some checking and messenger 11 is for vista and Win 7 only. What os are you using?

Hi Thalmus thanks for your help windows xp os could be my mistake can you let me have the link for the latest messenger for xp cheers.

I did disable mse but obviously if i am trying to download the wrong one then that wont work. cheers
