Swapping Op. System HDDs.

My mate has 2 PCs, one about 8 years old and the other just over 3 weeks old.
Each PC has 2 HDDs. Newest PC has Win Vista Premium, old PC is XP Home.
His query is, can he swap the 'C' drives and end up with XP on his new PC? He is not worried about his old PC. (I am, but don't tell him. It's better than mine)I do not know where to start thinking on this.

No

All the drivers will be wrong for the motherboard and for whatever other equipment is fitted.
He'll be lucky if it booted.
