"Merry Christmas" virus

Anyone know if this is real or another hoaxe?
I suspect the latter but after checking it out on Snopes, who at that time said it was an old, false alarm. When I received this new one I checked Snopes once more and now they claim it is REAL. So this must be a new virus, or is it????
