Wipe and Reinstall without Admin Access

Recently I've been having problems with my laptop culminating in the fact that it now takes half an hour to boot up once past the BIOS screen and can only load into a temporary profile. I've moved all the data that I can/want to to an external hard drive and now I just want to wipe, reinstall and pray that doing so fixes it.

Anyways, due to a fuck up involving where my disk actually is; I'm not gonna immediately have internet access while doing this install so I just want to make sure before I go that i'm not gonna have any problems.

So to summarise:

I do have:

  • Legitimate Windows 7 Professional OS Disk (Dreamspark installation media burned onto a CD)
  • CD Key for the above
  • My Laptop
  • The ability to access startup/bios options (It's anything past this where the problems start)

I do NOT have:

  • A profile with administrator rights on the machine.
  • Internet access while initially installing windows.

I'm simply wanting to completely wipe the hard drive and start from scratch, what steps do I need to take to do this? I'm probably being overly cautious by even asking this but if I encounter a problem while actually trying it I have no way to get help and I just want to make sure.

Fresh install of Windows 7

Go into the BIOS and change the first boot to CD?DVD. Then insert your disk. Follow Instructions.

What you will need is the drivers that windows 7 does not install, usually this is the lan driver and sometimes audio. You will need to get the lan driver from your laptop manufacturers website, without it you will not be able to access the internet. Unless of course you have the driver disk/files for your PC.

You could download the drivers and save them to a file on your external hard drive or a usb pen drive.
