winhlp32.exe does it work?

Can't seem to get old help files to work with Vista.

Downloaded & installed the above file.

Any ideas??

yes, that is it - followed the link that popped up when I tried to access help files

And the same message still appears when you try to access .hlp files ? tried downloading the update and installing it manually using right click/"Run as admin"?

I followed the instructions to install it, everything seemed to go as with any other software installation, but still get the message that help files no longer work in Vista:-

The Help for this program was created in Windows Help format, which was used in previous versions of Windows and it is not supported in Windows Vista.

For more information, see Windows Help program (WinHlp32.exe) is no longer included with Windows on the Microsoft support website.

Reading further down the Microsoft page, perhaps I'm better off without it.

Think I'll refer to the help files which I can still access on the old XP machine.
