Windows store on Windows 8.1 won't work

Hi, I have tried today to get Play up on my screen but all that happens is a message to tell me that,

"Something has happened and Windows Store is no longer working. Please restart your PC and try again. If this problem continues, you might need to refresh your PC."

Well, I have tried to restart, and the same message comes up. So I try to refresh my PC and it's warning me that the computer will be reset to its defaults and I will have to reinstall 8.1 again. Is there another way, a shortcut perhaps, around this problem? Or is there a possibility it will sort itself out on its own?

Any advice much appreciated.

Thanks...
