Every time I try and enter my user account folder windows explorer shuts down and then restarts. Can anyone out there offer me a fix. I have tried CClaener, turned the UAC off and ran Agent ransack, all none of these fixes seem to work. I am running Visa Home Premium on a Sony Vaio AR41E, please help as its driving me nuts!!!!!!

Try the system file checker from an elevated Command Prompt:
Click Start > All Programs > Accessories and right-click Command Prompt, then ‘Run as Administrator’. Type sfc /scannow (note the space) and press Enter. This may take some time and you may have to put the Vista DVD in the drive.

I always install my operating systems so I'm not familiar with preinstalled systems.

In preinstalled versions of XP it can be run so I see no reason why it doesn't in Vista, try it.
