Hi .. I have a 7.5yr old Mesh pc. Dual core, E6600 (2.4Ghz, 4MB Cache), PCI Express mainboard - SLI force 6501(C55), 2GB DDR2 RAM, 256Mb GeForce 8600GT graphics card. Running Vista .. now very very slow. Would like to run Windows 8.1 & Office 2013 (clearly i can only go for the 32bit which is not ideal)

I seem to be above the minumum requirements .. but do you think it will run ok.

Dont want to waste my money .. because my other though is just to buy a new system

Any views apprciated

I'd go for a new system with 8.1 . Select a company that will also supply an OEM windows disk with the PC if you can. It won't be long until the Windows 10 upgrade will be here. Just my humble view only.

Personally don't like W8. I'd rather fork out 40 quid for a genuine version of W7 and put that on (far more likely that peripherals would run on that if they run on Vista), and it should be much faster than your (probably) clogged-up Vista.
