Widows 7 installation problem after fitting an SSD

  jon109lin 21:01 28 Nov 14

I recently put an SSD into my desktop PC, reset the BIOS and installed W7 onto it from my original W7 disc.Every time I switch on, the following message appears,"Configuring Windows updates 0% complete. Do not turn off your computer". Then "Failure configuring Windows update. Reverting changes. Do not... etc". The SSD has called itself C and the previous C on the existing HDD is now D. Can anyone help please?

Boot from DVD or tap F8 at boot and from Advanced tools menu select Command prompt

del C:\Windows\WinSxS\cleanup.xml

del C:\Windows\WinSxS\pending.xml

reboot and it should boot to windows OK

Do you have both drives connected to the motherboard sata connections?
