This may sound a silly question but on browsing through my laptop's manual it mentions something about a recovery partition and saying not to delete it.Where would I find this partition on my laptop if it is possible to see it.My OS is windows 7.The manual says important do not delete the partition named RECOVERY.

A recovery partition is sometime hidden by not assigning a drive letter, this is to prevent deletion of the recovery files. If you go into disk management it will show you all partitions including the ones hidden.

Just a thought if you have not already done so make a set of recovery disks, these are in case your computer HD fails or the recovery files become corrupt.

Hi BRYNIT when I got my laptop I made a set of 5 recovery discs but not sure what is on them.Where do I go to to find disc management Thank's

The recovery should have a copy of the OS drivers etc allowing you to restore the computer to factory default if you ever have a HD failure so keep them safe.

If you just want to see how the disk is partition for curiosity in Win7 click on start, right click on computer and select Manage, when the window opens select storage/disk management from here you should see the hard drive and the partition.

As I said before sometimes the recovery partition is hidden. Sometimes you will have the drive partition into 2, the main partition with the OS and a second partition with a recovery folder containing the recovery files.
