Vista laptop shipped with 50% CPU max

I'm not sure if this is a default setting for every vista, but my new laptop came with the 'power saver' power plan enabled and this locks the max CPU at 50%.

So unless you know to change the power plan or create your own custom one with a 100% max CPU usage then you are not getting full performance from the machine.

Can you see the picture ... millions of users never realising that they only get 50% CPU performance from their machines.

How crazy is that !!!!!

Here is a link that sort of explains how to fix it.

Can anyone out there confirm that if the 'power saver' scheme is selected (with max CPU at 50%) that this will have a dramatic effect on the performance (which is what it sounds like it would do)
