Using a scanner with Vista Premium

I have a (basic) scanner on my new Vista (Premium) PC.

Whilst the scanner works via the long-winded menus system, I was wondering how I can make the scanner work more like XP where it allowed me to name a scan and place it in a specific folder.

Also, is it possible to put a shortcut on the Desktop to the Scanner - I cannot locate where the scanner icon is.

Thanks for any help.

Make and model of your scanner?

PC Line 3000 - I've got it working so I know the drivers etc. are Ok, but still need the original questions answered if possible.

What I think you mean is that you want to use utility software with your scanner. Done a search which indicated that this may be a re-badged Mustek product. I would contact PC World and see if they have any Vista updated utility software.

Thanks for the advise - you are right "utility software" is the phrase I was looking for. I will contact PC World
