USB drives not recognising mouse, etc.

I just bought a brand new laptop, but I'm having a problem with 2 out of 3 of my USB drives - My mouse, pen drive and other USB devices work fine on the first drive but when I plug them into the other two they don't work. I have checked the drivers and all are updated and working properly (It's new after all!) so I'm lost.
It's annoying as I can't use the mouse and pen drive at the same time.

Any ideas would be appreciated! Many thanks.

"2 out of 3 of my USB drives" - you mean USB ports surely - the physical slot the devices plug into.

Windows version, make and model of laptop, make and model of problematic devices please.

have you tried uninstalling all the usb ports restarting the pc and see if that does it,sometimes things get corrupted.

Agree with Kevscar. May just be worth trying a factory recovery (hidden partition or discs... whatevers supplied)
