Unknown folders in C:/Users in Windows 7

Hi I've got folders with names "DefaultAppPool.IIS APPPOOL.xxx" where xxx ranges from 000 to 225, and also "TEMP.IIS APPPOOL.xxx" where xxx also ranges from 000 to 225, all in the C:/Users folder. What are these for? They are only a problem when I want to scroll through to any of the User folders, but they do seem to have a lot of files in them, all occupying disc space. Thanks
