uninstall Live Messenger

New member error. I put the following plea for advice on the helproom section.
Just got a new computer with Windows 7. In downloading Windows Mail I seem to have also got Live Messenger. Annoyingly its page pops up every time I log on to Windows and I then have to delete it. I don't really want Live Messenger. How can I uninstall it, without uninstalling Windows Mail? I'd be glad of any help or suggestions.

Is there a option in Control panel>programs and features to just remove Messenger

If no I would look at using Window Live Mail

Its better than Windows mail
