Can anyone help, I have a Tecra 8000 laptop and have had a problem with what I thought may have been my hard drive 5gb. I bought a new 10 gb but I can not install this as it I can only power up in to BIOS and I dont know enough about computers to get past this stage and onto installing the new hard drive, and also how to install Windows O/S. Any help would be most grateful

As this is an old laptop,it will not run Vista...im pretty surprised its still going....dont make them like that anymore :-)
Chances are it will not run xp either.

There maybe a problem with your bios actually seeing the harddrive.

Try resetting the bios to default settings.

I assume you have been running windows 98 ?
