Receiving message "unable to locate drivers"

I continue to receive the message "Windows cannot locate the drivers for this device" whenever I try to add new hardware; i.e., docking station for my laptop, as well as the active sync cradle for my pocket PC.

I have made sure that I have the correct software loaded for Vista (and not XP) and I still cannot get these drivers to load.

Can anyone tell me what the problem is and how to fix it?

Also, on another note, every time I burn a CD it makes all my files read-only so that I'm unable to take the CD with me to my work computer and make any changes. HELP!!

Have you tried to update/find them manually? click here

Yes, I've downloaded the drivers for both the docking station and the activesync for Vista and am still receiving the same results.
