Hi We bought our son a new dell laptop (windows8) at Christmas and have just found out that it does not have the normal media player software for playing dvds. We bought him a new one because his Acer laptop kept crashing (windows 7). Although this is still working. He decided to play his dvds on his new one, and it wouldn't start automatically. We looked for the normal media player, and that is when we discovered it wasn't there. By accident he found Power dvd on his laptop, and his dvd started. Does anyone know if this is free software supplied with the dell laptop or is it like anti virus you have to subscribe to it (trial) We hate windows 8, but all new computers have them now. I preferred vista to my 7, although I am getting used to it after a year!!
