no ad hoc option when setting up a network

Windows 7 Ultimate - I'm trying to set up a network for my android tablet to communicate with; it has no Bluetooth. As per instruction I opened the "Network and Sharing Centre" I then chose "Set up a new connection or network". Then, on the next page, it was supposed to have an 'ad hoc' option. This isn't there. It has four options, but the last one, ad hoc, is not there. I've tried Microsoft help, but it only tells you how to set it up, but doesn't address the option that is missing. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Albert Toronto, Canada
