Hi

A couple of months ago, I set a friend's new PC up for her. Windows 8, so I installed Classic Shell. She's getting on with the PC very well (gone from XP straight to 8!!! )

Now that 8.1 is available, I'm not sure as to the best to advise her. I've just read that 8.1 must be downloaded by some time in January, otherwise I think the opportunity is lost (?)

As she's getting on so well with Classic Shell, can I download 8.1 and then still leave Classic Shell? Are they compatible? Is this wise? etc etc etc

I would appreciate advice in light of your own experiences and knowledge regarding this, please, if possible.

Thanks very much

Thanks Jock1e

What is 8.1 like without Classic Shell? Have you downloaded CS again since updating to 8.1? If so, did it run as it did before 8.1?

Cheers

Thanks again Jock1e Sounds safe enough to uninstall CS, download 8.1 and then reinstall CS ;) I appreciate your help Cheers
