Moving "User" folder to C drive

How do I go about moving the Windows 8 "User folder" which was pre-installed on my computer's "D" drive back to the SSD "C" drive. My attempts to install Windows 8.1 has been thwarted because the O.S is shared between the two drives apparently and refuses to install.

It really depends on how the folders were redirected they should have used a synlink

this is for windows 7 but it's the same for 8 click here

Usually the User Folders are put on the D Drive, because most SSDs are too small to hold more than the OS and your Programs.

Thanks for the responses folks! It seems more complicated than I thought. Perhaps I'll leave things alone and upgrade completely when Windows 10 come out. Many thanks once again. Fuzzface.
