Will I be able to install and run Microsoft Office Professional 97 on a new computer which runs with Vista?

Should point out that this is not an OEM version. But a retail with COA. Absolute pucker. Only been installed on one computer which used to run 98SE. That computer died a while ago, but I still have the original disc for Microsoft Office Professional 97.

If it runs on Vista then yes. I use Office 2000 I think it is and it ran fine when I was using Vista(had a few problems and went back to XP).

in Vista, but..........

Microsoft support for that version of Office has ended, and that means no security updates or patches. Outlook 97 will not run, but Windows Mail is actually a better bet anyway - it's far more secure, and has spam filtering.

Thanks for that FE.

Must say that I've found the spam filter in Windows Mail to be so poor that I've turned it off. Too many false positives and false negatives.
