Low volume audio output.

I have a new PC onto which I have installed Win7 and into which I have installed my Creative XFi Gamer Fatal1ty Pro sound card with the current x64 bit drivers.
On-board sound on my Gigabyte GA-EX58-UD5 mobo has been disabled in the BIOS.
Sound quality is now what I expected but there is a distict lack of volume compared to what I had with the card in my old PC running XP.
Anyone ?

did the card come with a remote with a volume control on it.

Hi there. Not a remote but a pod I think it's called. Plugs into the back of the base unit and gets in my way on the desk top :-)

does this pod thing got anyway of controlling the volume do you think

Yes. On/Off button, Mute button, Ear phone socket and individual level controls for Centre, Rear, Sub & Treble. I have tried every combi and now I think the Sound Card and the Win7 64 on this particular mobo is simply not a good combi. I have gone back to the on-board sound which is good but I don't seem to have so much controlability (all to do with jacks - the mobo uses 3 core sockets and one of the Creative jacks is 4).
* not sure if 3 core is right description. You know, mono 1 sterio 2 etc.

Also have a look in Control Panel > Sound - Right click on the soundcard icon (in my Win 7 install it was shown as Speakers for some reason) and check the levels. I had to increase mine as the default was only about half volume. I have an X-Fi Extreme Music BTW, which is as loud now as it was under XP!
