loading Quicken files (QDF) in Windows 7

If a QDF file is stored on a hard drive of Windows 7 it will not load.
However files will load if stored on a portable drive or U S B key.
An alternative method which does not involve a connection is to use a True Crypt created virtual encrypted drive.
If you do not have one the setup file can be downloaded from
true crypt.com. When set up the drive will be given a letter (say ā€œVā€)
To save Quicken files load Quicken and file from either a U S B key or portable drive.
Click on file/file operations/copy.
Browse to the drive letter of true crypt drive
File will then be copied to that drive.
In future open true crypt drive before quicken and quicken file will loads as normal
