Having acquired a DELL LCD, i found that my computer could not recognize it as an LCD but as a CRT. The CD provided me no aid in terms of installing the drivers. Is it logical that it be recognized as a CRT? if not What procedure should i follow to rectify the problem?

I think you will find that your operating system has installed generic drivers and as long as your screen is working I wouldn't worry.

If you want to have the correct designation showing try searching for specific drivers and installing those but it probably won't make any difference to your display.

which graphics drivers do you have with nvidia you can manually put the monitor in by model or type.
