Internet Explorer connection problem

My daughter has a new Toshiba laptop with Vista. I set up the machine to access the Internet through our wireless network with no problem and all was fine. In the middle of doing homework research the connection was lost and cannot be got to work again. The software running the wireless connection says that it is OK. Windows and Norton can both access updates with no problems over the network and internet. IE is not set to work offline and no settings have changed in internet Explorer options. Any ideas please.
Thank you in advance.

You may have tried reseting IE already, but if not.
Open IE>tools>internet options>advanced>reset.
Also delete temp files and cookies.
