Installing stored System image on new HDD

Can someone please advise? I have a Samsung RV515 running Windows 7. i have a System Image on an external hard drive. I am able to restore my laptop to this image no problem at all. I simply want to know, if i were to replace the internal hard drive with exactly the same capacity. how would I get the System Image onto the new hard drive? IE would the machine simply start up and give me the option to install the new image on the new drive?

Thanks very much.

That would depend on the program you have used to make the system image.

Usually you create a boot CD/DVD with the program and boot with it and then that gives you a menu/options.
