Increasing Font/Point size in Win7?

  kwil2 16:28 PM 09 Aug 11

Hi... I've found that since recently starting with Win7 the font/point size in nearly every program I use is 'thin' or 'weak'. Even Firefox. It's all very pretty and neat and I can see it alright, but I'd like to be able to change it to suit me. No problem doing this in Word etc. I'm using a full-HD TV/monitor at full resolution. All I can see to do is change 'display image'. I note this can range from the default 125%>150>200. However, this brings up a window pointing out there may be problems encountered doing this. All I really want to do is change the font to BOLD as I've just done! Is that so difficult? I'm assuming that all the other programs are taking their cue from font settings within Win7. As a Win7 newbie, am I right in thinking this and is there any way I can easily change to the bold font I'd prefer? Or am I missing something basic here? Many thanks

Right-click on desktop and select "personalize".

Select "Window Color" and then "Advanced appearance settings".

Below "item" is a drop-down menu. Some of the items in the menu will allow you to change the font, its size, style and boldness.

Changes in color scheme may not be applicable while using Windows Aero-themes.
