Help wanted on setting Vista Explorer folders

My opinion of the best layout of columns in a Windows Vista Explorer view is different to that of Microsoft. Is it possible to change the templates for views for folder types such as “Documents” and “All Items”?

Thanks in advance to anybody who can tell me how to do this, or that it is not possible.

I have solved this myself! Although the [Organize] ‘Properties’ [Customize] tab for setting the folder type, the [Organize] ‘Folder and Search Options’ [View] [Apply to Folders] button for applying settings and the <Right Click> procedure for setting which columns are displayed are strewn around in different windows so that they did not seem to be related, I found that [Organize] ‘Folder and Search Options’ [View] [Apply to Folders] does seem to change the template so that new folders are created with my preferred columns.
