Go to Control Panel -> Hardware and Sound -> Printers window, right click the printer, select Properties, click Ports tab, there ought to be an option to enable bi-directional comms there.

You could perhaps try reinstalling the driver, or try to find a newer one on the Canon website. Unless the printer itself has gone wrong, it's probably the software playing up.

Perhaps it’s due to my installing the latest printer driver from Cannon.So, how can I re-install the original vista selected driver?
