Empty Programs folder keeps appearing on desktop

Recently my Windows Vista has been creating an empty Programs folder on the desktop each time I log-in, or install a new program.

Does anyone know how to stop this from happening? I can delete the folder each time, but its just very annoying.

Thank you in advance, Seb

could try either logging on as administrator or when you right click select run as administrator, apologies if you've already tried that.

I had this, I gave up deleting it and just made it hidden.

Managed to resolve the problem by right-clicking the folder, then selecting the "location" tab, then pressing the "restore to default" button.
