Dual Core - 1 not recognised

MSI K9N SLI platinum/AMD 64 x2 5200+ 2.6 Ghz/vista 32 oem. cpu z 139 recognises 2 cores but only selects 1. 'cool n quiet' is enabled, latest bios is installed. Help? Thanks

that's because there is only one processor package. If you look next to it, it will say it has 2 cores, ie 2 cores to processor #1. You would only get processor #1 and processor #2 if you have more than one processor package (such as in a workstation or server). Nothing's wrong, so don't worry. It's the same with mine

Right click on taskbar and choose windows task manager- click on performance tab - view - CPU history and tick show one graph per CPU you will then see both cores I have the same processor and it works for me.
