Does a Reinstall Leave D partition Intact.

I originally upgraded to Vista from XP using Acer's "Express upgrade offer DVD" If I were to attempt to reinstall Vista in the future, as a clean install this time, would my backups (Acronis 10) remain intact on the D partition. (Notebook with single HD split into 2 equal partitions). This would hopefully provide a safety net if I hit any problems. I have the bootable Acronis disk. Thanks Karl

Your Windows partition is C, then yes...BUT CHECK FIRST!!! :)

That was quick ! It is yes, suppose I should also have asked is it better to wait until arrival of SP1 first. Thanks

You re-install windows, it will need to be updated all over again with all the updates, and SP1, you might be better of re-considering the re-install.

If you are not having any specific problems, why do it at all?

No specific probs, its just nice to know the options if I get stuck in future. I also would like to try out a few things with a clean install, but with the option of "going back" if needed.
