Connect PDA on Vista (To load TomTom)

I have a Dell X5 PDA which I only really use for Sat Nav (TomTom Nav 5). I let the thing go flat so it went back to factory default and lost my TomTom software. No problem on my original XP system, just reinstall via MS Active Sync from Tom Tom disc, did it many times. Problem now, since I've upgraded to Vista, is I don't believe there is a version of active sync for Vista as it is supposed to cope itself, but when I run my TT install program, it doesn't find the PDA and hence I cannot re-install my TT.
Any thoughts?

I'll have a go with that when I get home. When I plug PDA in, Vista seems to recognise it and tells me it's OK, but the TT software doesn't see it. I'll have a dabble with that and post back later.
Cheers
